- Salmon croquettes are fried salmon patties, which are a southern favorite. Deliciously inexpensive, mix up these scrumptious patties and serve with your favorite sauce, like Remoulade sauce (a Cajun tarter sauce) and sides.
Making the Salmon Croquettes
- Salmon croquettes are easy to prepare.
- If using canned salmon, drain and remove the bones.
- Flake salmon apart with your fork in a mixing bowl.
- Add the egg, onion and half the bread crumbs to the salmon.
- Season to taste.
- Mix well.
- Form salmon mixture into equal sized patties.
- Cover the patties with the additional bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat.
- Add croquettes to hot oil.
- Fry about 2 minutes on each side.
- Patties are done when they are golden brown.
- Drain on a paper towel.
