- Rum balls are a classic winter holiday treat and are very easy to make. They require no cooking, no equipment other than a bowl and no hard–to–find ingredients. If you prefer bourbon or another flavorful liquor to rum, feel free to alter the recipe to suit your taste.

- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup rum
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Make the Rum Balls
- Remember to make your rum balls a few days before you want to serve them.
- In large bowl combine 1 cup of the confectioners' sugar with the rest of the dry ingredients.

- Form the dough into 1–inch balls, then roll in the remaining confectioners' sugar.
- Place the balls in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator at least a couple of days before serving.
