What You'll Need
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust, rolled out to fit a 9-inch pie plate
- 4 cups fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and sliced
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter, chopped
- 2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1 tbsp sugar

- 9-inch pie plate
- Mixing spoons
- Mixing bowl
- Pastry brush
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425° F (218° C).
- Line the pie plate with the bottom crust, allowing the edges to hang over the sides.
- Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl.
- Add the peaches and lemon juice and mix well.
- Place the filling in the bottom crust.
- Scatter the butter on top of the peaches.
- Place the top crust on the pie and crimp the top and bottom edges together.
- Brush the top with of the pie with milk or cream and sprinkle with sugar.
- Make several slits in the top of the pie for steam to escape. These can be straight or decorative.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350° F (176° C) and continue to bake an additional 45 minutes, until crust is browned and filling is bubbling. Stick a knife through one of the steam slits to make sure the peaches are soft and tender.
