How to Make a Summer Peach Cobbler
The peach cobbler recipe on this video is slightly different than the recipe on this page, but many of the tips and tricks shown on the video are useful for any peach cobbler recipe. For example, you can ripen peaches overnight by storing them in a closed brown paper bag.

Ingredients You'll Need for Peach Cobbler
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- Whipped cream or raspberry ice cream, if desired
Equipment You'll Need for Peach Cobbler
- 2 quart saucepan
- 2 large spoons
- 2 quart casserole
- Mixing bowl
- Pastry blender
Step 2: How to Make Peach Cobbler
- Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Place peaches into casserole dish, and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Mix flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl.
- Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture looks like fine crumbs with no large lumps.
- Stir in milk.
- Drop dough by spoonfuls onto peach mixture mixture. Make sure you have at least as many dollops of dough as people who will be eating the cobbler.
- Bake uncovered approximately 45-50 minutes or until biscuit topping is golden brown, and cooked through.
- Serve with whipped cream or raspberry ice cream, if desired.
Step 3: Peach Cobbler Tips
- If you'd rather top your cobbler with a single crust, you can roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread it over the cobbler.
- Consider using vanilla sugar, instead of regular sugar, to sweeten the peaches. To make vanilla sugar, place sugar in an airtight jar with a vanilla bean overnight.
- You can substitute canned or frozen peaches, as long as they are not packed in syrup.
- Add a few tablespoons of Amaretto to the peaches to add an almond flavor.
