Research the company to find out if there are any complaints being made about the company. You can even ask questions about the company on various transcription forums to get first-hand accounts of people's experiences with the company.

You also need to read through the company's website to find out what type of transcription they do, and how much experience they require. When you find a company that matches your experience and skill level, then apply. For most transcription companies, you should receive a response within a week.

After you complete any necessary tests and pass, make sure to familiarize yourself with the way the company operates. You need to be familiar with how you will receive work, how to complete the work, and how to submit your completed work. You will most likely be provided with a manual or other documentation to assist you in these areas.
