Key Lime Pie - Dessert Recipes - UKTV Food
This video shares a British take on an American classic. The chef uses chocolate cookies for the crust, instead of graham crackers. She also substitutes a combination of lemon and lime juice for the key lime juice- which may bake a tasty lemon-lime pie, but its not a key lime pie.
Please note that this is a European video- so that when she refers to baking it a t 200 degrees, she's referring to Celsius, not Fahrenheit. -
Introduction
Key lime pie is traditionally made with the juice from key limes, which are small limes native to the Florida Keys. If you don't have access to fresh key limes, you can find bottled key lime juice in most grocery stores. -

Key Lime Pie Ingredients
Crust
- 1 1/2 cups graham crackers
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling
- 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2/3 cups fresh or bottled Key lime juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons lime zest
Topping
- 3/4 cup chilled heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
