How to Make Kamikaze Shots

Introduction

Throwing a party, or having some friends over for drinks? Kamikaze cocktails and shooters are real crowd pleasers and are easy to make.

The kamikaze drink has been around for decades, and has been traced back to the American occupation of Japan. It is said to have been created at a military base in the town of Yokosuka. Now, it is a favorite at bars and nightclubs around the country.

Step 1: Get Your Ingredients Ready

You need:

  1. Vodka
  2. Triple sec
  3. Fresh or sweetened lime juice
  4. Ice

Equipment

  1. A cocktail shaker
  2. A straining lid
  3. Shot glasses

Step 2: Make the Kamikazes

  1. Fill your shaker with ice
  2. Pour in equal parts vodka and triple sec
  3. Pour in about half as much lime juice as vodka
  4. Shake well
  5. Strain into shot glasses
  6. Serve while still well-chilled

Variations

  1. To make a kamikaze cocktail, simply pour ingredients over ice in highball or collins glasses. Garnish with lime wedges.
  2. For raspberry kamikazes, add a dash of raspberry liquor.
  3. For sweeter shots, add a splash of lemon-lime soda or lemonade.
