Making Frozen Hot Chocolate

- 6 ounces chocolate
- 2 teaspoons of powdered hot cocoa mix
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3 cups ice
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Chocolate shavings (optional)
Frozen Hot Chocolate Equipment
How to Make Frozen Hot Chocolate
- Fill the bottom of your double broiler with water and bring it to a boil, then lower to a simmer.
- Take your six ounces of chocolate and chop it into small, fine pieces.
- Put the chocolate in the top of the double broiler and stir it occasionally as the chocolate melts.
- Stir in the cocoa mix and sugar and make sure they are completely blended into the melted chocolate.
- Remove the mixture from the heat, and then slowly stir in a 1/2 cup of milk. Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- After the mixture cools, put the remaining cup of milk into the blender, along with the ice. Then add the chocolate mixture.
- Blend on high-speed until the mixture is smooth, but thick.
- Pour into your goblet, top with the whipped cream and shavings and serve!
