Prep the Eggs
- Decide if you want to boil your eggs or blow them out. Either way it will be beautiful, and fun.
Hard boil

- Start with cold water.
- In a single layer, place eggs in the pan.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Remove from heat.

Blow Out

- Poke a small hole into the top of the egg with a large needle.
- Poke a larger hole into bottom of the egg.
- Scramble the egg yolk with the needle.
- Blow into the small hole.
- The egg will drain out the bottom.
- Rinse out the inside of the egg.
- Dry before using.
Color the Eggs
- Dying eggs is the basic way to make colorful creations. When making fancy Easter eggs, colored eggs are a great base. Here are a few tips for coloring your eggs:
- Make sure the eggs are cool and dry before dipping into the dye.
- For richer colors, dissolve dyes in vinegar.
- Vinegar helps the eggs absorb the dye.
- Try making natural dyes from food you can find in your kitchen.

Thread and Ribbons
- Create elegant, textured eggs using silky thread and ribbons.
- Wrap the thread (choose thick thread) or ribbon around the egg so that no white shows through.
- Use glue as an adhesive.
- Be careful not to crack the egg.
