How to Make Dutch Apple Pie

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 stick butter, melted

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Pie tin
  • Wooden spoon
  1. Combine sugar, flour and butter in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  2. If needed, work with your fingers until the sugar and flour form little crumbles.
  1. Preheat oven to 425° F (218° C).
  2. Place the bottom crust in the pie plate. Press with your fingers so that it lies flat agains the bottom of the pan.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
  4. Drizzle the lemon juice on the apples then toss with the sugar mixture.
  5. Place the apples in the bottom crust, mounding the apples in the center.
  6. Scatter the topping on the apples.
  7. Place the pie in the oven, and bake for 50-60 minutes, until the apples are tender and the filling is bubbly.
