Ingredients and Equipment
2 6-oz. packages cornbread mix, crumbled
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups onions, chopped
- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 2 cups biscuits, crumbled
- 1 tbsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 3 eggs, beaten
- Medium-sized skillet
- Large mixing bowl
- 9x13 inch glass baking dish
Step 1: Combine Butter, Onions and Celery
Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºF).
- In medium-sized skillet, melt butter.
- Add onions, celery. Stir.
- Cook for 7 minutes on medium-high heat.
- Let cool.
Step 2: Make Cornbread Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, add crumbled cornbread, biscuit, poultry seasoning and salt. Mix.
- Add vegetable mixture. Stir.
- Add chicken broth. Stir.
- Add cream of chicken soup and beaten eggs.
Step 3: Bake
Grease baking dish.
- Pour mixture in.
- Cook for 40 to 50 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if it's done.
