How to Make Cinnamon Nut Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup quick-cook oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp walnuts
  • 1 tbsp pecans
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon

Cooking Process

  1. Boil the water in a saucepan on the stove.
  2. Stir in oats. You can substitute steel-cut, old-fashioned or instant oats for quick-cook oats.
  3. Add almond milk and stir. You can substitute cream or whole milk for almond milk.
  4. Cook the oatmeal according to the package of oats (about one to two minutes for quick-cook oats).
  5. Add walnuts, pecans and cinnamon. Continue to cook and stir the oats until you reach your desired consistency, as more time on the stove will produce a thicker oatmeal.
  6. Place in a bowl and serve. Add extra cinnamon on top if desired.
