How to Make Chocolate Candy

Step 1: What You Need To Make Chocolate Candy

  1. Dark, milk, or white chocolate
  2. Food coloring, if you're using white chocolate
  3. A double boiler or microwave to melt the chocolate
  4. Heatproof bowl
  5. Candy molds
  6. Rubber spatula

Step 2: How to Make Chocolate Candy

  1. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth. Make sure not to overcook the chocolate. If you are using real chocolate, rather than chocolate designed for homemade candy, you'll want to make sure you temper it, so it won't discolor later on.
  2. Pour the chocolate into a squeeze bottle or pastry bag, to make filling the molds easier.
  3. Fill the mold with chocolate.
  4. Tap the mold on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  5. Place the mold in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate.
  6. Remove the chocolate from the mold.

Step 3: How to Fill Chocolate Candy

  1. Fill the mold part way with chocolate from the squeeze bottle.
  2. Brush the chocolate up over the sides of the mold.
  3. Chill to set.
  4. Add a filling of your choice.
  5. Top off the mold with chocolate.
  6. Tap the mold on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  7. Place the mold in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate.
  8. Remove the chocolate from the mold.
