Mahalo food expert Miranda Valentine walks you through how to make banana bread.
Ingredients and Equipment
- 5 medium bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cooking oil (canola oil, butter or margarine)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan, greased
- 2 medium-sized bowls
Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into medium-sized bowl.
- Make a well in the center of the mixture.
- Set aside.
Step 2: Make Banana Mixture
- Combine bananas, eggs and oil in medium-sized bowl. Stir.
- Pour banana mixture into center of well in flour mixture.
- Mix.
- Fold in nuts.
- Spoon in mixture.
- Bake at 350ºF (177ºC) for one hour.
Cut, Serve and Enjoy!
