Step 1: Ingredients for Baguette
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- Olive oil (for greasing bowl)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dry active yeast
- 4 bowls (3 medium, one large)
- Dish towel
Step 2: Making the Dough
- Sift together flour and salt in medium bowl
- In another bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water
- Add half of the salted flour to the water and yeast mixture
- Work with your hands to form a dough
- Cover with dish towel
- Let sit until tripled in size (about 3 hours)
- Work in remaining flour with hands (be gentle)
- Turn onto lightly floured surface
- Knead for 10 minutes
