Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup old-fashioned or quick oats
- 1/4 cup apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (substitute for honey or brown sugar)
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Equipment
- 1 medium saucepan
- 1 mixing spoon
- 1 medium serving bowlc
Prepare the Oatmeal
- Put the water into your saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add the oats to the boiling water and stir.
- Add the apples and stir.
- Add the maple syrup and stir. If preferred, honey or brown sugar can be used as substitutes instead.
- Add the cinnamon, saving a pinch to use as a finishing garnish.
- Add whole milk and stir before letting the oatmeal cook until thick, about 10-12 minutes.
- Place the oatmeal in a bowl, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
