Making this dessert is simple and quick. The prep time is only 10 minutes, but you do need allow 45 minutes for the Ambrosia to chill before serving. You will need a large bowl in order to mix all your ingredients and a large wide mixing spoon.
If you choose to make your own whipped topping that needs to be done before hand, otherwise you can make it using store bought refrigerated whipped topping. These directions will be using the container of whipped topping.

Step 1: Gathering the Ingredients
Ambrosia Ingredients:
- 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
- 2 1/2 cups shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail
- 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks
- 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries
Step 2: Blending the Ingredients
- Drain all the juice from the canned fruit
- Combine the canned fruits with the chopped nuts,coconut and miniature marshmallows into a large mixing bowl.
- Fold in the whipped topping carefully so that the fruits are not bruised during the process.
Step 3: Chilling the Ambrosia
- Cover this bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 45 minutes to chill.
- Stir again before serving.
