How to Make Almond Milk
What You'll Need
- 1/2 cup of raw almonds
- 1/4 cup of pitted dates (pits can damage blender). You can use more or less dates, depending on the desired sweetness of your milk.
- 2-4 cups of water (depending on desired consistency).
- Blender
- Cheesecloth, a strainer or a sprout bag.
Instructions
- Remove blender cover, add almonds first, followed by the dates.
- Add just enough water to wet the ingredients, cover blender and turn it on high speed for a few seconds.
- Ingredients will still be thick. You may now turn the blender off. Uncover the blender, add two cups of water to ingredients (more or less depending on desired consistency) and cover the blender. Resume blending on high speed for a few more seconds until the ingredients have turned into a frothy milk.
- Pour almond milk directly from blender into a drinking glass and serve.
- If you prefer a smooth texture to your almond milk, you'll want to strain it through your cheesecloth, a strainer or a sprout bag. Enjoy!
