Introduction
The Zombie is popular among young crowds at modern bars and nightclubs, but its roots go back to the 1930's. It was created in Hollywood by Don Beach, owner of Don the Beachcomber's restauranthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDOqM9i6No8, and founder of "tiki" style restaurants and bars. (Beach was also a world traveler and adventurer who was a bootlegger during the Prohibition era.) The Zombie gained widespread popularity after its appearance at the 1939 World's Fair in New York. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_(cocktail)
Step 1: Drink With Caution
The Zombie got its name for a reason—drink it, and you will turn into a zombie! The cocktail is filled with fruit juice, which masks the high concentration of alcohol. The Zombie goes down easy, but it packs quite a punch. Be careful, and don't overdo it.
Step 2: Get Your Ingredients
Step 3: Make the Zombie Drink
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add all of the ingredients but the 151. Shake thoroughly, and pour into a glass. Top with a splash of the 151. For garnish, you may use a lime wedge or a cherry. Serve immediately. If you do not have a cocktail shaker available, it is also okay to prepare the drink stirred. Simply pour all ingredients except the 151 into your glass over ice, stir with a long spoon, and then top with the 151.
