Introduction
One of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to show someone you care is by making them a Valentines day card. By following these 3 simple and unsponsored steps, you'll be able to make the most of Valentines day by learning how to make a valentines day card. How many times have you seen a manufactured rack card and thought to yourself that you wish it said something just a little bit different or could mean a little more to the person you were giving it to? Professionally printed gift cards can be a romantic, sweet and nice Valentines day present. However, there are few things in life that can mean as much as those that are hand made. By making a Valentines day gift card with love and affection, you're passing those feelings on through the Valentines day card itself.
Required Materials:
- Paper
- A Good Quality Pen
- A Computer Printer
- A ruler and scissors
Step 1: Purchase The Correct Paper
- Visit your local office supply store. Check out our Staples Coupons page before you go to save money.
- Some office supply stores have scrapbook sections or sell paper in individual sheets
- Purchase a low quantity of 20 to 25 pound colored paper. Red, pink and cream work very well.
- Purchase a low quantity of card stock. Plain white works well but any color that looks good with your thin paper choice above will work well.
Step 2: Print a Message
- For a professional, but hand made look, compose a message on your computer in a word publishing program.
- A simple, short message works well.
- Place the inside thin 20lb paper in the printer and print your message.
- Don't type everything or it may not look home made. A cute or romantic caption is all that is required.
Step 3: Cut and Fold
- Greeting cards are not usually 8.5x11 paper folded in half. Trim your card so that it is slightly smaller.
- Fold the piece of paper in half. Take note of your pre-printed message.
- Fold the piece of paper again from the opposed side, this time using the ruler to press the edge.
Step 4: Inscribe and Decorate
- Using a pen, write your own special message.
- If you are artistic, make some nice looking doodles and drawings on the card
- Combine those drawings with tactful, love related stickers.
- Sometimes the best adult stickers can be found in the scrapbook department of your local grocery store.
