Are you having a party where you will have some non-drinkers or perhaps children? If so, then knowing how to make a Shirley Temple is essential. This classic mocktail (or kiddie cocktail) was reportedly invented by the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in the 1930s for their frequent guest, child star Shirley Temple.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley_Temple_cocktail. Since then, it has become a common way for children to feel a little more grown-up when dining with adults, as well as given adults a great non-alcoholic drink option. As an added plus, a Shirley Temple drink is easy to make, requiring only a few ingredients and almost no preparation.
