Want to dress up to look like the King of Pop? You can easily construct your own MJ costume, and will be sure to get plenty of attention at Halloween parties or masquerades. Read on to learn how to make a Michael Jackson costume of your very own.
Introduction
This costume is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's Thriller days, which is when he had one of his most memorable looks. It easy to make, and any clothing items that you don't have on hand may be purchased at a thrift store such as Goodwill or Salvation Army. The sequins for the glove may require a trip to an arts and crafts store.
Step 1: What You Need for the Costume
- Tight black or red pants
- A short red or black jacket
- A white t-shirt
- A black fedora hat
- A single white glove
- Sequins
- Glue
- Scissors
- White socks
- Black loafers
Step 2: How to Assemble the Costume
First, you will need to make the trademark sequined glove. Use a fabric glue to attach sequins to the single white glove.
- Next, use the scissors to shorten your pants to just above the ankle.
- Now to assemble the costume, put on the white t-shirt. Then wear the jacket over the shirt. Put on the pants, and then put on the socks and pull them all the way up so that they run straight up your legs. Slip on the loafers, hat and glove to finish off the costume.
Step 3: Completing the Look
To complete the look, head to a wig or costume shop to find a hairpiece that looks like Michael's own tresses. It shouldn't be too difficult this year to find plenty of options.
