Described as a party in your mouth, the Hot Tub mixed drink combines a significant number of ingredients into a fizzy beverage with hues of blues and greens topped with white foam. The drink combines flavors of orange and raspberry liqueur with cranberry juice on a base of vodka. The Hot Tub is topped with a fizzy layer of champagne. While the drink requires numerous ingredients, it is relatively easy to make. The drink can be made by pouring each ingredient directly into a tall glass. As the drink combines so many ingredients, it may be best to measure each item to ensure they will all fit into your glass without overspilling. Consider adding the Hot Tub to your drink menu at your next party.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOBen4lnPw0
How to Make a Hot Tub Video
JaNee Nisonger, a Los Angeles area bartender, prepares the mixed drink called a Hot Tub in this instructional video from Mahalo. Nisonger presents the required ingredients, the preparation steps and insight into the flavor of the drink. This mixed drink guide is part of a larger series of tutorial videos offered on the Mahalo.com YouTube channel.
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients and Drink Supplies
Obtain vodka, blue Curacao, grand marnier, chambord, cranberry juice and champagne. Bartender JaNee Nisonger recommends Smirnoff vodka and Brut champagne. You will also need a pint glass, ice and a measuring cup if you want precise measurements.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOBen4lnPw0
Step 2: Measure and Combine Ingredients
Fill your glass with ice, then measure out 1.5 ounces of vodka in your measuring glass. Pour the vodka into your glass. Measure 0.5 ounces of blue Curacao and add it to your glass. Also add 0.5 ounces of Grand Marnier and chambord to your drink. Measure about 1.5 ounces of cranberry juice and add it to your mix. Top off your drink with champagne. Pour the champagne carefully, as to avoid the bubbles overflowing your glass.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOBen4lnPw0
Step 3: Garnish and Serve Drink
Take a lemon and cut it into wedges. Adjust the size of your wedges to the size of your lemon. Place one lemon wedge along the side of your glass as a garnish. You can also select an orange twist, fresh raspberries or kitschy items as garnishes.http://www.thatsthespirit.com/en/mixology/howto_garnish.asp Your Hot Tub is now ready to be served.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOBen4lnPw0
