Do you need instructions for a simple Halloween pinata? Pinatas are a natural fit at a Halloween party as both pinatas and Halloween are intimately associated with candy. This guide will teach you how to make a Halloween pinata that will be the hit of any occasion
Tips
You can dilute white glue with water, and use that instead of the flour and water
Make sure to hang your pinata in an open space where nothing will get damaged while people are swinging at it
Add tissue paper and decorations with additional flour and water paste, or use household glue.
The more layers you add, the tougher the pinata will be to break.
Speedy Halloween Pinata Idea
Purchase a pinata at a party store, and layer over it with tissue paper and other decorations to customize it to your theme. A Mexican Horse can quickly become a "headless horseman" and a smiley face pinata can be transformed into a pumpkin, for example.

Introduction
A pinata serves as a game and as an activity at your Halloween party. The selection of Halloween pinatas at party stores may be limited, however, so why not make your own Halloween pinata? Although they may look complicated, pinatas are actually easy to make at home. The principle supplies needed are a balloon, newspaper, flour and water.

Although the flour and water for the paper maché will wash out of clothes and hair, clean up is easier if your work area is covered with a drop cloth, or some extra newspapers.
- Whisk the water and flour together to make the paper maché paste. Pour the paste into a pan.
- Blow up the balloon, and place it in a bowl for stability.
- Tear the newspaper into strips approximately 1" wide. You'll need a lot, so you may want to assign one helper to keep tearing strips while others apply them to the pinata.
- Dip a strip of newspaper into the paste.
- Place the newspaper strip on the balloon.
- Smooth it down with your hand.
- Apply the next strip so that it overlaps the first one. Repeat until the balloon is covered.
- Leave a 2 inch circle uncovered at one end of the balloon.
- Allow the balloon to dry. Cover the paste with plastic wrap so that it does not dry out.
- When the balloon is completely dry, cover it with a second layer of paper maché, allow it to dry again, and then apply a third and final layer.
- Pop the balloon, and remove it from the pinata.
- Poke holes on either side of the 2 inch circle, and thread with string. This will be the top of your pinata.
- If you want to add paper maché features to your pinata, you'll need to allow the pinata to dry again after they are added.
- Finish decorating your pinata with tissue paper, paint, and markers.
- Allow to dry.
- Fill with candy
