Introduction
While gingersnap cocktails are popular for the holidays, they are also refreshing in the warmer months. To make a gingersnap cocktail you will need vodka, a fresh lime, ground cinnamon, a twist of lime, ginger syrup (lemon, water, fresh ginger, sugar), club soda, ice, a martini glass, and a cocktail shaker. -
Step 1: Preparation
Coarsely chop up two cups of fresh ginger. Take a small pitcher and add the two cups of chopped ginger, the juice of one lemon (squeezed), two cups of hot water, and one cup of sugar. Thoroughly mix all ingredients by stirring them and allow the ginger syrup to cool in a refrigerator before using. Take the martini glass and add ice and club soda. This will thoroughly chill the glass until it is frosty in about a minute. The club soda will also remove any water spots. Let the ice and club soda chill the glass until you are ready to pour the gingersnap cocktail into it. -
Step 2: Mixing
Take the cocktail shaker and fill it ¾ full with ice. Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the shaker. Add three ounces of vodka and one ounce of the cooled ginger syrup. Put the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake the gingersnap cocktail ingredients well for about a minute. -
