Ja Nee Nisonger demonstrates how to make a gin and tonic. She starts with a tall glass filled with ice and adds 1.5oz of gin. She also notes that tonic water has more bubbles than soda water, so you don't necessarily need as much of it in order to get the desired effect. She completes the drink by garnishing it with a lime.

Extra Gin and Tonic Information
The British East India Company and the British Army are responsible for the gin and tonic. Quinine, an ingredient in tonic water, was used to prevent malaria. However, because it was so bitter, gin was added to soften the taste. Gin is flavored with juniper (yes, the tree) and the flavor compliments the bitterness of the quinine.
Since the 18th century, other ways to fight malaria have been discovered, but the gin and tonic lives on. Tonic water contains less quinine than it used to, and is usually sweetened. There is now a wide variety of gins to choose from.
