How to Make a Foil-Wrapped Baked Potato

Ingredients and Equipment

  • 1 russet potato
  • Aluminum foil
  • Fork
  • Plate to serve it on
  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F.
  2. With a fork, pierce the potato skin several times before putting it in the oven so that the heat can escape as it cooks.
  3. Wrap the potato in foil and let it cook for an hour. It should be soft and squeezable when it's done.
  4. Poke the potato with your fork along the top but don't pierce all the way through the potato.
  5. Squeeze the side of the potato so that it opens up a little bit. Discard the foil.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
