- 1 1/2 cups of crushed chocolate wafer cookie crumbs
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Step 2: Make the Chocolate Crumb Crust
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter.
- Use your hands to pat the crust into the pie plate or springform pan.
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
- Bake for 6 minutes.
- Remove pan to a wire rack and let cool before filling.
Step 3: Chocolate Crumb Crust Variations
- Replace a portion of the cookie crumbs with ground almonds, and add 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to the melted butter.
- If you're making a cream pie that doesn't require baking, coat the baked crust with a layer of melted dark or white chocolate before filling.
