Step 1: Pick Your Team
The first step in planning your cheerleader costume is to choose your colors. If you are in school, you may want to represent your educational institution's football team. If you love the team in your city, you may opt to root for them. You can do this by finding patches or iron-on logos with your team's name or mascot. Or, you can just wear their colors. If it is a well-known team, people will probably get the idea. If you have no preference when it comes to football teams, simply choose colors you like, and those that look good on you. -
Step 2: What You Need
- A sweater, tank top or t-shirt
- A matching short, ruffled skirt
- Stockings or pantyhose
- White sneakers
- Glitter glue or paint
- Construction paper in the colors of your team
- Masking tape
- Some type of short sticks (2)
- Fabric Glue
- Scissors
Step 3: Assembling the Outfit
- Cut the first letter of the name of your team out of construction paper (you can use your own name if you don't have a team, or just the letter A)
- Decorate with glitter
- Glue the letter to the back of your shirt
- Cover a piece of construction paper with glitter
- Cut many thin strips of the paper to make the pom-poms
- Tape the strips to the end of your sticks
- To make a megaphone, roll up another piece of construction paper, and tape together to form a cone shape
- Cut paper of a different color to form the same letter that you used on your shirt, and glue it to the megaphone
- Add glitter to the megaphonehttp://www.ehow.com/how_4450699_make-cheerleader-costume.html
