Andie (Kate Hudson) works for Composure magazine writing "How To" articles. She bets her boss that she can date a man and make him break up with her in ten days. Meanwhile, Ben (Matthew McConaughey), an advertising executive, bets his boss that he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days. Soon after, Andie and Ben meet in a bar, unknowingly trying to win their bets while manipulating each other.
