• On my honor, I will try....The opening phrase of the Girl Scout Promise has been recited by millions of girls through the years. These days, it is easier than ever to join the organization...as a girl, as an adult, or as a lifetime member.

• You can become a Girl Scout at anytime from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Age-appropriate troops and activities abound.

1. Find a Girl Scout Council near you. You can look online or ask your parents, teachers, and neighbors.
2. Get in touch with the council. They can fill you in on which troops and group are available in your area.

3. Joining a troop may be as simple as
   1. Committing to the Girl Scout Promise and Laws
   2. Paying a small yearly fee.

1. Day camp
2. Overnight camp

• Check with your local council to find a Girl Scout Camp near you.

• Are you into sports? Music or dance? Girl Scout interest groups last from one to six months and offer sessions on topics such as

1. Careers
2. Sports (Soccer, tennis, softball, and more)
3. Performing arts (theatre, dance, music)
4. Life skills (Planning, money management, and more)

• Girl Scout interest groups can give you lots of information about things you might not be learning at school.

• If you want to help enrich young girls' lives, you can join as an adult:

1. Mentor young girls
2. Speak at Girl Scout events
3. Volunteer in a troop or interest group
4. Lend support to your local council office

• Lifetime Memberships are for you if you believe in the Girl Scout mission and are either 18 years old or a high school graduate.
