Introduction
- Having all of your friends on one social networking site is quite convenient. As Facebook is currently the most popular social networking site on the web, it makes sense to try and get everyone you know to sign on as a member. This guide will walk you through how to invite your real-life friends to also become your Facebook friends.

Step 1: Sign on to Facebook
- In order to invite friends to join Facebook, you must first be signed into the site yourself. Use your username and password to access your account from the Facebook home page, www.Facebook.com.
Step 2: Select invite friends
- This works best for friends with email addresses you already know. If you do not know your friend's email address, jump down to Step 3.
- On your home page, hover your mouse over the third button from the left in the top, dark blue toolbar titled "Friends." A drop-down box will appear. Select "Invite Friends."
- In the "To" box, type in one or more email addresses of the friends that you would like to invite to Facebook. You also have the option of including a personal message, perhaps explaining why Facebook is so great and why you think they should join.
- Click the "Invite" button to send the invitation(s). You will receive a confirmation box telling you they were sent.
- If someone you are trying to invite is already a member of Facebook, you will see a pop-up box telling you that the person with that email address is already registered and that Facebook has sent them a Friend Request on your behalf.
- You will receive a confirmation email if one of your friends accepts your invitation to join Facebook or confirms your Friend Request.
