Introduction
- There are two ways to invite friends on MySpace: you can either find and add friends that have MySpace pages or you can invite friends who are not on MySpace to join and become one of your MySpace friends.
Step 1: Finding and Adding Friends
- Start by finding friends already on MySpace and add them as friends to your profile.
- The person you want to add can choose to decline or accept the request.
- MySpace will not let you know if they decline the request, but they will send you an email if they accept.
- To find friends, use the search field to look up friends. You can search by real name, screen name or email address.
- When you find a friend, click on "Add to Friends" on their contact information. Wait for the friend to confirm the request.
- You can also search for friends and other people you know by browsing. Choose Browse People from the navigation menu. You will have a variety of options to choose from, such as zip code, age and sex.
Step 2: Inviting Friends to MySpace
- If you have friends that are not already on MySpace, invite them to join.
- Under Friends on the menu, choose Invite Friends.
- Select Invite Friends to MySpace.
- Type in the email address or all the email addresses if you want to invite several friends.
- Click on Send Invitation.
- Send the friend or friends a personal email saying that you would like them to join MySpace, so they know that the mail is not spam or an automated email from MySpace but actually was sent from you.
- When viewing the Invite Friends to MySpace, you can choose to copy a link at the bottom of the page and paste it into an email instead of typing in the email address in the box. You simply select the text in the field under Send a Custom Invitation Link and copy and paste it into a regular email you send from your email account. This way you can include a personal message with the link.
- If your friends join MySpace, they will automatically be added to your friend list.
