Tree Hanging
Jsreidnyc and his family videoed the whole process of how to have an upside down Christmas tree. This video starts with him holding their real Christmas tree upside down and checking to see if they had chosen the correct spot to place it. Next, it shows him taking the frame off the bottom of the Christmas tree and nailing the frame to the ceiling. After that, they fasten a large hook to the bottom of the tree with a large series of wires wound around the bottom branches and the stem of the Christmas tree. They test hang the Christmas tree upside down, and notice it is crooked. They take the tree down, adjust the wires, and hang the tree upside down again. Once they are sure that the tree will hang upside down straightly, they take it down and put the lights and the garland on the tree. Once the lights are on, they hang the tree upside down and put the ornaments on. They nail decorative gifts to the ceiling "under" the upside down Christmas tree.
Step 1: Attach the Skirt to the Frame, and the Frame to the Ceiling
- Hold the undecorated Christmas tree upside down and check to see if it will look right in various places until you decide on a place.
- Take the frame off the bottom of the Christmas tree.
- Nail a Christmas tree skirt to the frame.
- Nail a loop to the middle of the frame, through the skirt.
- Nail the frame to the ceiling.
Step 2: Hang the Christmas Tree Upside Down from the Ceiling
- Fasten a large hook to the bottom of the tree by winding a long wire around the bottom branches and the stem of the Christmas tree.
- Test hang the Christmas tree upside down to see if it is crooked.
- Take the tree down and adjust the wires as needed to make the tree hang straightly upside down.
Step 3: Decorate the Upside Down Christmas Tree
- Once you are sure that the tree will hang upside down straightly, then take it down and have someone hold it upright.
- Put the Christmas lights and the garland on the tree as usual.
- Once the lights are on, then hang the tree upside down and put the Christmas tree ornaments on.
- Nail decorative gifts to the ceiling "under" the upside down Christmas tree.
