Step 1: Wash it Out
- There are literally dozens of different shampoos and conditioners specially formulated to treat and cure dandruff. As with other beauty products, different brands and types work better for different people and most users develop a favorite. If you find that one brand or type doesn't work for you, try another until you discover a dandruff product that meets your needs. When washing your hair, use warm or lukewarm water and massage the scalp gently with your fingertips rather than using your fingernails.
Step 2: Simplify

- Rinsing your hair with vinegar shortly before washing it
- Using a shampoo that contains tea tree oil or massage the scalp with a tea tree lotion
- Rubbing massage oil into the scalp an hour or two before you wash your hair
- Gently brushing the hair, including the scalp, gently and regularly
