Introduction
- Getting out of school isn't always easy, especially if you have keen parents watching over you like a hawk. Feigning sickness is often a great way to get a day off from school, but you definitely need to make sure you it's convincing.
Step 1: The Sick Trick
- Everybody gets sick, so pretending to be ill to get out of going to school is a great trick to pull, but not one you want to overuse, lest you be labeled the boy or girl who cried wolf. You will need to make sure your illness is convincing, so here are a few ways to do that:
- Lay the seeds for illness the night before by mentioning you aren't feeling well.
- Work up a sweat by doing some exercise.
- Speak in a low, hushed voice.
- Prepare some fake vomit and pretend to get sick.
- Research current strands of illness going around.
Step 2: Leaving School
- Once you are at school, and you come up on a situation that makes you want to go home, it may be a good idea to feign illness in the classroom. If you've recently eaten lunch, you can say that you threw up and ask to go to the nurse. Once at the nurse, prepare to have your temperature taken. Even if you aren't running a fever, you can work the sick card until the nurse suggests that you should go home. Be prepared, she will call your parents, who will in turn probably come to get you. Once you are home, you'll need to be careful, especially if your parents don't go back to work.
Step 3: Skipping Out
- There is always the option of not involving your parents or the school at all. Many kids look for a good opportunity to slip off of campus, but with increased security measures in schools, this option may not be as easy as it once was, and if you get caught you will be in trouble with not only the school, but your parents as well. So be care if you chose to skip school, or leave early without permission.
Conclusion
There are just some days when going to school feels more like a chore than an opportunity to spend some time with friends in a learning environment. Taking a day off is as easy as pretending you don't feel well, but skipping without anyone knowing could get you into trouble. Remember that missing too many days of school could get you and your parents into trouble, so don't overdo it. The occasional day off now and then is a respectable thing, as everyone needs a mental health day.
