Introduction
- MySpace is a free social networking site that allows you to keep track of your friends, meet new people and show off your taste in music, film and art. MySpace users can organize their music via playlists and personal profile songs, and have the capability to download ringtones to their cellphones in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Access MySpace Ringtones
- These steps will get you to the MySpace Ringtones page:
- On the MySpace home page, there is a "Music" navigation bar near the top of the page. Click on the tab and you'll reach the main Music Page for the site. (You do not need to be a MySpace member to access this page or to purchase the ringtones.)
- On the main Music Page, type a keyword search into the "Music Search" box, which is on the upper right corner of the page. You can search by title, album or artist. Because of the number of songs available on MySpace, it's a good idea to narrow your search. For example, if you wanted the song "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys, you'd want to type in "Sabotage Beastie" to obtain a shorter list of options.
- Click on the play icon (it will appear as a blue triangle) to preview a song, then click "Ringtones" above the song track box.
- If there is no ringtone available for the track you want, MySpace will let you preview other ringtone-available songs from the album.
Step 2: Buy the Ringtone
- After you click "Ringtones," you'll see a pop-up from Jamster, which is MySpace's ringtone vendor of choice. Type in your mobile phone number, then, if you agree, confirm that you accept Jamster's Terms and Conditions.
- Shortly after you submit your request, you will receive a text message with a PIN number. Type this PIN into the box labeled "Enter PIN Here," then click "Get It." The cost of the ringtone will be charged to your next mobile phone carrier bill.
Step 3: Things to Know About Jamster
- After you have purchased the ringtone, you will likely receive text message offers for subscription services from Jamster. While you are free to accept or delete the messages, you may not appreciate the solicitations.
