Homework is an essential part of learning, and some teachers assign daily homework. Oftentimes, teens may need to complete work that they have begun in school at home. Consider contacting her teachers, if a teen continues to state that she does not have homework in any class. Homework gives teens responsibility and independence. Parents can also offer to guide students in completing their homework, by showing students a few examples and brainstorming suggestions for accomplishing a task. A little motivation and guidance are sometimes all that it takes to get teens to complete their homework.
Step 1: Reminders
Remind your teens to do their homework. http://www.positivediscipline.com/articles/teenmotivation.htmlA gentle reminder is sometimes all that it takes to get teens to do their homework. Sometimes teens are distracted by drama at school, television, or their friends. Never nag teens. Simply ask them if they have started their homework or assume that they have homework and ask them what work do they need to catch up on for school. It's also a good idea to periodically ask teens if they need general school supplies or supplies for a project.
Step 2: Give Them Time
Motivate children to do their homework by allowing them to recharge. Some children may need a snack or time to rest before they launch into their homework. A distraction that allows students to burn off energy, like participating in an afterschool may help the child to focus when they settle in at home. Give teens a quiet place to relax and do homework. http://kidshealth.org/parent/positive/learning/help_teen_homework.html#Talk to your child to determine their needs.
Step 3: Reward Them
Give the students rewards. Students who become burned out by homework may need a special treat to motivate them to work. http://www.parentsconnect.com/questions/child-behavior-reward-good-behavior.jhtml Think of homework as a job. You work to get a paycheck. Although children should be expected to complete homework for free, allowing them to have a special dessert or a reward for getting all A's on their homework will help students become motivated.
