Introduction
Cutlets can be made from a variety of meats and vegetables. Three of the most popular are chicken, turkey and pork. You can use the information on this page to fry any type of cutlet.
Step 1: What You Need
The ingedients below will make 4 average sized cutlets.
- 4 boneless cutlets of your chosen meat, with the fat trimmed off and pounded very thin
- 3 eggs, beaten and then mixed with 1 tablespoon of water
- 2 cups of breadcrumbs
- Olive oil
- Frying pan
Step 2: Prepare the Cutlets
Prior to frying, the cutlets should be dipped into the egg/water mixture and then covered with the breadcrumbs. To do this, place the egg and water in a shallow bowl, and pour the breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl. Set the bowls up side by side close to your preheated pan. Dredge the cutlets in the wet mixture first, and then into the breadcrumbs to coat. Once the cutlets have an even coating of breadcrumbs, they are ready to fry.
Step 3: Fry the Cutlets
- Heat your frying pan over medium heat.
- Add approximately 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan.
- Place one or prepped cutlets into the pan. Make sure they don't crowd each other.
- Fry until each side is golden brown.
- After frying, cutlets may be served or used in a recipe such as chicken parmesan.
