Introduction
- Since one of the main purposes of Facebook is to connect with friends and people you know, learning how to find friends of Facebook is necessary to enjoy the benefits of a Facebook account.

Step 1: Joining Facebook
- Although you can search for people before having a Facebook account, you will not be able to add them as friends or contacting them on Facebook before you create an account.
- A valid email address is required.
- You must be at least 13 years old to sign up for an account.Facebook: Questions and Answers from Facebook
- Sign up by visiting Facebook's homepage. You will be greeted by the sign up page.
- Enter your name, email address, password of choice, sex and birthday.
- Facebook will send you a registration email. Log in to your email account and click on the link in the email.
- You can now start to customize your profile page and add friends.

Step 2: Facebook Friends
- After signing up for Facebook, you can start searching for friends.
- Regardless of how you choose to add friends, the person you add have the option to decline or approve the request to add them as a friend.
- If you change your mind, you can later remove someone as your friend.

Step 3: Friend Finder
- The easiest way to quickly add friends to your account is to use the Friend Finder.
- You can search for friends by using the Friends Finder when signed into your account.
- After you provide your email address and password, the Friend Finder searches through your email address book.
- Facebook will not contact any of the people you search for without your approval.
- The Friend Finder will let you know if any account holders of the email addresses have Facebook accounts.
- You will then have the option to send a request to add the person as a friend.

Step 4: Searching for Friends
- You can also search manually for friends on Facebook.
- You can use the basic search option to find friends. Simply type in the name in the search field in the top right corner or click on Friends at the navigation bar and type in the name in the field under Search for People.
- Facebook has a special search for finding friends through a school name. You can search for current or former students at a school. Select Friends from the Navigation Bar. Then choose Find Former High School Classmates or Find Current or Past College Classmates.
- You can also search by workplace. Select Find Current or Past Coworkers. Type in a company.
