An [LG Cookie]] touch phone uses a standard battery Li-lon 900 mAh. It can last up to 350 hours stand-by time and 3 hours and 30 minutes on talk time. If you are on the go or always out of the house, there are chances that your LG Cookie won’t last the whole day unless you’ll take your charger with you. In this article, you will learn how to extend battery life on an LG Cookie.
LG Cookie or also known as LG KP500 is LG’s entry level touch phone released in late 2008. It’s only 11.9 thick (phone size is 106.5 x 55.4 mm) and weighs 89 grams. This touch phone has similar design with LG’s other phone called LG Renoir. http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_kp500_cookie-2536.php

Video Review of the LG Cookie
This is a short review of LG Cookie or LG KP500, LG’s budget touch screen phone which was released on September of 2008 by phonearena.com. LG Cookie looks similar with the other LG phone known as LG Renoir.
Step 1: Turn Off Unnecessary Sounds
Sounds such as keypad tones and alert warnings aren’t really necessary. You may think that these tiny sounds doesn’t matter at all, they still eat a portion of your battery life. Besides, what’s the use of hearing the sound of your keypads while you’re typing? You would barely hear them anyway especially if you’re in a crowded place and it still sucks out battery life on your phone.
Step 2. Turning Off Text Message & Ring Tones or Vibrate options
Do you really need to set a ringer? If you have your phone in front of your desk all day, then you don’t need them anymore. You’ll see right away if you have a call or message anyway. If your phone’s in your bag then that’s the time that you need ringing tones. You can also disable vibrate mode if you don’t need it. If your phone is in the deep in your bag, the vibrate modes aren’t really that useful anymore so you can just turn it off.
Step 3: Adjust Your Phone’s Screen Brightness and Backlight Setting
This is a fact: if your LG Cookie’s brightness is set to 100% your battery life depletes quite fast. Adjust the brightness to about 40% especially if you’re indoors or if you just have to let your phone sit idly on your desk. You can also adjust your backlight setting so it wouldn’t take long before it fades after using your phone. http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/ways-to-make-your-cell-phone-battery-last-longer/
Step 4: Turn Off all Applications When Not in Use
If you’re not using applications such as your Bluetooth connectivity, turn it off. This transmission although not in use is a huge burden on your battery life. Every gadget that is connected via wireless connections eats up more energy from your battery. Other phone application such as the document reader or browser can be turned off as well when not in use.
Step 5: Turn off your phone when you have to or you don’t need it for a while
If for instance you’ll be in a meeting or at work where you have to keep your phone out, just turn it off. Since you won’t be using it anyway, there’s no sense in keeping it turned on. Just turn it on when you’re allowed to use the phone again. Mobile phones are for emergency purposes usually that’s why they became a necessity. But there are times when you are being restricted from using them so there’s no choice but to comply. Turning them off during this time is wiser so that when you have the chance to use them again you won’t have to complain because it ran out of battery while it’s kept from you.
Step 6: Bring Extra Batteries
If your phone must be busy during the whole day, you can just bring extra batteries with you so you would have backup whenever you need it. There are times when we need our phone 24/7 for personal and business needs that’s why extra batteries is a good idea if you won’t have access to a power outlet while you’re out of the house. LG Cookie battery costs about $29.
Step 7: Bring a Portable Phone Charger
If you will be staying at your office or in the car or somewhere else where there would be a power outlet and you need to work with your phone all throughout the day, just bring with you a portable charger or the typical charger you use. At least you don’t have to spend money to buy extra batteries and you can use your phone throughout the day.
