1. Hold the chicken wing in your hands, and look for the larger end.
2. Pick the cartilage off the larger end. This release the two bones inside the wing.
3. Grab the smaller bone and pull it out.
4. Hold onto the smaller end, and pull the larger bone out.

Introduction
Most people are more concerned about controlling the mess associated with eating chicken wings than making sure they get all the meat off the bones. But after you've provided plenty of napkins and wet wipes, and set up a bowl for the bones, you may be concerned about perfecting your technique. This page will help you learn how to eat chicken wings. -
Step 1: Anatomy of a Chicken Wing
Chicken wings actually have three parts, although only two generally appear on a platter of wings.
- The wing tip, which is usually severed at he joint and discarded or used for chicken stock
- The middle, or flat section, which contains two separate bones joined ta each end by cartilage
- The "drumette" is one large bone that connects the wing to the body of the chicken
-
Step 2: How to Eat the Chicken Drumette
The large bone segment is usually trimmed to look a like a mini-drumstick. The bone is in the center, so most people put the drumette in their mouths and use their teeth to pull the meat off the bone. Sometimes there's meat left, that can be removed by a second try. Discard the bone after eating, and proceed to your next chicken wing. -
Step 3: How to Eat a Chicken Wing
Many people use the same method they use for the drumette to eat the center section of the wing. They use their teeth to scrape the meat off. As you learned in Step 1, however, there are two bones in this segment, and most of the meat is between the two bones. In order to make sure you get all the meat, you should remove the bones following the method outlined in the video at the top of the page. -
