Featured Video: Learn the Butterfly
This informative video shows the process for doing the butterfly chip trick. In the trick, a stack of four chips are fanned, placing one between each of your fingers. Start with the stack held with your thumb, index, middle and ring fingers. Using your thumb, pull the bottom two chips away from the stack, holding the two between your thumb and index fingers. Move the top two chips so they are being held by your ring finger and pinky. Bring your middle finger, which should be free towards your palm, pushing the two stacks together in the center above your middle finger. Bring the bottom chip between your index finger and thumb away from the other, twisting it away. Repeat this step using your pinky to pull swing the top chip away from its mate.
Learn the Chip Flip
In the chip flip, also called the thumb flip chip trick, one stack of chips, typically four to six, are held, taking the chip furthest from you palm and moving it to the other end of the stack.
- Grab four to five chips and grasp them with your thumb, index finger, middle finger and ring finger, placing your fingers equally spaced around the stack. Leave about one-half inch between the end of the stack from the end of your fingers.
- Securing the stack with your index, middle and ring fingers, grab the front chip, the one furthest from your palm, with your thumb and index finger.
- Carefully pull the chip up, perpendicular to the chip stack and towards your palm using your thumb and index finger.
- Once the chip moves past the center of the chip stack, move your thumb to the edge of the chip closest to your palm, pressing down to move it in line with the opposite end of the stack from which it started.
- Return your thumb to the side of the chip stack and repeat the process for each chip, or as many times as you desire. Should you repeat the trick several times, you may need to readjust the stack with your fingers, moving it away from you palm.http://www.trickswithchips.com/thumb-flip-trick.htm
Learn the Twirl
In the twirl, three chips are held in one hand, taking the center chip out from the stack and spinning it, then returning it to the center of the stack. For best results, use two outer chips of one color and one chip of another color for the middle chip.
- Start with three chips in one hand. Hold the chips on all four sides, using your thumb, index, middle and ring fingers.
- Loosen the stack of chips and grasp the top and bottom chips firmly with your index finger and thumb.
- Using your middle and ring fingers, pull the center chip down and away from the stack.
- Balance the center chip between your index and ring fingers, using your index finger to keep hold of the other two chips with your thumb.
- Using your middle finger, spin the center chip by pulling the edge towards your palm. Spin it as long as you desire, finishing the spin with the chip in line with the other two chips.
- Loosen the two chips held by your index finger and thumb if they have moved close to one another, opening a space to return the third chip to the center.
- Apply upwards pressure on the center chip, pressing it between the two other chips to return all chips to the initial stack.http://www.trickswithchips.com/chip-twirl.htm
Learn the Knuckle Roll
The knuckle roll is one of the easier poker chip tricks as it can be done with a single trick and some nimble fingers. The chip starts between your thumb and index finger, then is rolled, flipping end over end across the top of your fingers, then back to the start under your fingers.
- Starting with the chip between your thumb and index finger, move the chip over your index finger, interlocking it under your middle finger. By pressing down with your middle finger and raising up your index finger, flip the chip over your index finger.
- Using the same method, interlock the chip under your ring finger, bringing your middle finger up and your ring finger down to flip the chip over your middle finger.
- Repeat the process to place the edge of the chip under your pinky finger, again bringing the ring finger up again and moving the pinky down.
- Bring the chip back to the starting position by reversing the complete process, except this time move the chip under your fingers. Again you will need to lift one finger at the same time you lower the next finger to flip the chip under each finger and back to between your thumb and index finger.
- Once you've mastered the knuckle roll with one chip, you can try to use two or three chips at a time, rolling each separately.http://www.21ace.com/poker_chip_tricks_knuckle_roll.html
