Are you thinking about going on the HCG diet? This plan has helped many people drop a significant amount of weight in a relatively short amount of time. In fact, it is estimated that individuals on the HCG diet plan will lose an average of 1 to 3 pounds each day. In addition, it is thought that this plan actually alters the metabolism of those who follow it, which can result in long term weight loss and help ensure that the extra pounds do not come back. Of course, you will also need to maintain proper eating habits to prevent post-diet weight gain.http://hcgdietinfo.com/
If you are eager to get started, take a look over this page to learn how to do the HCG diet. Here we will go over all of the steps necessary to follow the plan. Keep in mind that this diet plan is only intended to be followed by those who have a significant amount of weight to lose. If you are only looking to shed a few vanity pounds, this may be too intense as it is recommended that you follow the plan for at least 23 days. Also, as with any diet plan, it is a good idea to consult your family doctor before embarking on the HCG diet.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/<ref>
HCG Protocol Overview
This video was made to help newcomers to the HCG diet understand the different phases in the HCG diet protocol. The hostess explains that the phases were not created by Dr. Simeons, but rather were created by Kevin Trudeau in his book "Weight Loss Secrets They Don't Want You to Know About."
Step 1: Preparing for the HCG Diet (Phase 1)
Phase 1 of this plan was created by Kevin Trudeau, and it is entirely optional. You do not need to do this step in order to go on the HCG diet. However, it is recommended to help prepare yourself for the weeks to come.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/preparation-phase-1/
During phase 1, which occurs over the 30 days leading up to actually starting the HCG plan, it is recommended that you drink 1/2 to a full gallon of water each day, as well as at least 1 cup of chamomile tea and green tea. You should also get professional colonics and do an oral colon cleanse as well. http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/preparation-phase-1/
Each day you should eat 2 tablespoons of raw coconut oil, at least 2 apples and 2 grapefruits, a large salad with both lunch and dinner, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar 3 times daily, plenty of hot peppers and hot salsas, cinnamon, and all organic foods.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/preparation-phase-1
You should also walk at a leisurely pace for an hour every day, and participate in yoga and weight lifting. You should avoid foods that contain trans fats and high fructose corn syrup, as well as anything microwaved. Take as few over the counter drugs as possible, and use a shower filter to reduce exposure to toxins.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/preparation-phase-/
Step 2: Phase 2 of the HCG Diet
Phase 2 of the HCG diet comes directly from Dr. Simeon's weight loss book, Pounds and Inches. This is when you actually begin taking the HCG (which is short for Human Choriogonadotropin). HCG is a hormone that is created in the body during the first phase of pregnancy. While traditionally HCG has been injected into patients at medical clinics, it is now available in droplet form, and can be taken at home by administering the liquid under the tongue.http://hcgdietinfo.com/
For the first 2 days after starting the HCG, you should eat any food you want, and plenty of it. This is certainly the easiest part of the diet--these are "load days" while you are waiting for the HCG to take effect.http://hcgdietjourney.com/hcg-diet-guideline/dr-simeons-pounds-and-inches
On day 3, however, the party is over. From here on out (until phase 3) you may consume only 500 calories per day. Breakfast is coffee, tea or Yerba Mate, and lunch is 100 grams of lean protein (such as a veggie burger patty, fish or eggs), a handful of veggies, a breadstick and a piece of fruit. Dinner is the same as lunch. You should also drink at least 2 liters of liquid each day, which may be water, coffee or tea.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/diet-protocol/
Step 3: Phase 3 of the HCG Diet
Once you have lost the desired amount of weight, you are finished with phase 2 and ready to move on to the maintenance portion of the HCG diet. This is when you should stop taking the HCG, and you can stop restricting your calories as well. However, you must avoid certain types of foods during the phase 3. This means no sugars or other sweeteners (like corn syrup or even artificial sweeteners such as Splenda); no breads, pastas or other starches; no nitrites and no fast food. However, you can eat as much as you want of all other foods.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/maintenance-phase-3/
During this 3 week period, you will need to monitor your weight every day. This is because this is the time when your weight is stabilizing, and you do not want to gain back any more than 2 pounds at the most. If you do happen to gain more than 2 pounds, you will need to take immediate measures. You must fast until 6pm, and try to drink an entire gallon of water each day. After 6, you should eat a very large portion of protein, which should not be salted. You may also have an apple or a tomato with your meal if you choose. Once your weight has dropped back down, continue with the regular phase 3 eating plan.http://thewisejaime.wordpress.com/maintenance-phase-3/
