Mahalo professional hair stylist Christine Grajeda, from Studio DNA, shows you how to create a braided ponytail.
Step 1: Create Ponytail
- Starting with clean hair, brush through to ensure there aren't any kinks or knots.
- Comb back hair and start to gather in your hands.
Go from where your chin is and follow a diagonal line up to determine where to place your ponytail. - Apply light hair spray.
Step 2: Create Braid
Divide hair into three equal sections. Hold a section in each hand off to the sides. Do a regular three-strand braid.
Tuck in the loose strands of hair. Place elastic band over ends to keep braid in place.
Apply hairspray. Loosen up braid using your fingers. Brush loose hairs on top. Finish off with hairspray.
