How to Delete an App on iPhone 4

There are many instances where one may wish to delete an app on their iPhone 4. Before you can do this, you'll need to learn how to delete an app on the iPhone 4. Deleting an app is a simple enough procedure, however, there is more than one way to do it, and both may not be obvious to every user.

You can delete an app out of desire or out of necessity. The iPhone has a limited amount of space for memory, so when you run out of room, you will need to delete apps before you can add more to the system. In other cases, apps can become buggy or non-functional, at which time there is no longer a reason to keep them on your phone, and they should be removed.

It is much easier to remove apps than to add them back, so think carefully before you choose to delete. Also remember that system applications (those that came with your phone) cannot be deleted. Only third party apps from the app store can be deleted through any method.

Step 1: Decide Which Apps to Delete

There are many reasons you may wish to delete an app, such as:

  1. Your iPhone has run out of memory and you need the space for another application or file
  2. The app is no longer functional and contains bugs
  3. The app is no longer used
  4. The app was replaced with a more current version
  5. The app is outdated - such as something created for an event that has passed
  6. You simply feel you have too many apps

You can keep even non-functional or outdated apps for as long as you like - it is up to you when to delete each application.

Step 2: Delete the Applications with Your iPhone 4

  1. Navigate to the screen where your app is located
  2. Hold your finger on any app until all of the apps on the screen begin to wiggle
  3. A small "X" will appear over the 3rd party apps. Tap this X to delete the application
  4. When you're finished, push the home button to return to normal functionalityhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnIe-BkUAac http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97449M
