How to Create a Wedding Updo for Long Hair

What You'll Need

Hair products:
  • Hairspray or anti-humidity spray
  • Hot rollers
  • Long bobby pins
  • Bristle brush

Step 1: Set Hair with Hot Rollers

Start by setting your hair with hot rollers. Spray with hairspray or anti-humidity spray. Remove rollers. Spray again with hairspray.

Step 2: Tease Hair

Split hair into sections. Using a rat tail comb, gently push down the hair, starting about two inches above the roots to create more volume on top. Repeat for all sections. Be sure not to disrupt the curls.

Step 3: Pin Hair

Use bobby pins that match your hair color. Starting at the side of your head, pick up the sections you've just teased and pin to the back of your head.  Pin where you see the yellow circle in the second picture.

On the other side, pick up your teased sections and place the bobby pin into the part that you teased around the crown. Lightly spray. Using the side of a bristle brush, gently brush your hair.
