Mahalo's professional hair stylist Christine Grajeda, from Studio DNA, shows you how to create a half-up hairstyle using a headband.
What You'll Need
Hair products:
- Light hairspray
- Dry shampoo to create volume.
Hair tools:
- Headband
- Rat tail comb
- Bobby pin
Step 1: Add Volume to Your Hair
- Brush through the hair.
From the corners of her hairline, section out like a horseshoe. 
Take small sections at the back and spray dry shampoo at the base. Back comb hair to create volume. 
Repeat the third step throughout your hair. With teasing, be gentle. You don't want to hack at your hair and break it off. Give it one or two strokes and keep moving. Be sure to apply dry shampoo to every section at the base.
Step 2: Place Headband in Hair
Using your comb, brush your hair on the side towards the back of your head. Spray with hairspray. 
Starting at the roots on your forehead, put on headband.
Using your comb, section off the hair that you want to put up. Pull hair towards the back and use a bobby pin to hold the hair in place.- Finish with a light spray.

Christine was attracted to hair from the start because it offered her a balance between creativity and interacting with people. She studied at the Sassoon Academy where she gained a technical foundation and listening skills to help her meet and exceed her clients' expectations. After working on shaping and styling women's hair, she decided to broaden her demographic and focus on the slightly different skills required for men cuts.
