Peel an Onion

  1. Peel off the papery outer skin with your hands.
  2. Cut off the stem and the root with a paring knife or chef's knife. 
  3. Sit the onion down and cut from the top down, straight through the root.
  4. Continue to remove the rest of the papery skin with your hands. You can use your knife to help by inserting the blade directly under the skin and pulling back.c
