In this video, Mahalo expert Judith Jones demonstrates how to make a bacon, cheddar and mushroom frittata.
What You'll Need
4 medium eggs
- 2 heaping tbsp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp mushrooms, chopped
- Parsley garnish (or any other herb(s) to your liking)
- 1 tbsp bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup half & half
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Nonstick frying pan
- Large bowl
- Spatula
- Whisk
Preparation
Preheat broiler on low heat.
- Set burner to medium. Heat nonstick frying pan.
- Add olive oil to frying pan. Spread it around so that it covers the entire surface of the pan.
- Add butter to pan and let melt.
- Gently run theĀ butter around the entire bottom of the frying pan. This will ensure that nothing will stick as it cooks.
- Pour eggs and half-and-half into large bowl and whisk. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste (optional). Add parsley (optional). Add cheese and whisk.
Cooking Process
Add bacon and mushrooms to the frying pan and let cook.
- Wait until bacon is golden brown, then add egg mix.
- Use your spatula to mix everything together well. You want to make sure the eggs cover all of the other ingredients.
- Once the bottom of the eggs are cooked, place the
frying pan in the broiler. Let cook for 5-7 minutes until egg is golden brown. Remove pan when done.
- Flip the frittata by placing a plate over the frying pan and turning the plate and pan over at once to let the frittata fall out of the pan and on to the plate.
